If you haven’t been to Haus of Plants, located on 329A Elgin Street in Ottawa, you’re missing out!
This super cute and cozy plant shop has a modern boho vibe and not only will you find lots of amazing plants, the cafe area is set up with beautiful egg chairs, earth toned leather couches and wooden tables that will make you feel right at home.
Haus of Plants is also a licensed cafe and they have (this is my favorite part!) a specialty alcohol lineup consisting of Japanese sake, Japanese beer and Japanese liqueurs such as peach liquor.
Dogs are allowed anywhere in the store. I ordered an iced vanilla latte that day and sat by the window with Benji. The place is very cozy and it can get very crowded, especially on a weekend. If you have a big dog, I suggest you go earlier during the day, or on weekdays. Please make sure they don’t knock off any plants with their happy tails!
The owner, Jenny, has 2 little dogs that come to help her out in the store from time to time as well. You might know them too, they’re Teddy & Bear (@teddybearboo on Instagram). Jenny knows a lot about plants too, so if you’re like me and need advice on which plant is the strongest survivor in the store, she will gladly help you out. I don’t even know what I got, but it’s still alive after a month.
